Changes to Extended Hours

Following the results of the annual survey organized by the PPG, the practice has decided to change the way if offers extended hour consultations for patients. As opposed to doing these ALL on Saturday mornings, as we currently do, we will now offer new additional telephone consultation slots EVERY weekday between 6.30pm and 7pm as well as having 2 GPs doing appointments every other Saturday morning at the surgery.

The hope is that this is fairer for all, as many have said they cannot wait or make Saturday mornings but would like to speak to a GP later in the day during the week. This change will start from the beginning of January

Welcome – New Faces

We would like to welcome Dr Julian Treadwell and Dr Fiona Boyle,  and welcome back Dr Andrew Moscrop, who are taking over Dr Sanderson’s role as she is sadly not returning to the practice.

We would also like to welcome Annie Winstanley and Nichola Cowlard, who are joining us as new practice nurses.

Partner Earnings

pound

“All GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (eg average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working for six months or more for Observatory Medical Practice, in the last financial year, was £65862 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 8 part time GPs.”

Patient Notice

All organisations that provide NHS services, or publicly funded adult social care, must have fully implemented and conformed to the Accessible Information Standard (1605) by 31st July 2016.

This means we would like to record your preferred method of contact so that you can receive your health information in a format you can understand.

For most of us the preferred method of contact is our home telephone number or mobile phone number but if you are visually impaired or hard of hearing you may prefer another option.

If you would prefer us to contact you in another way, please inform Reception so your records can be updated.

Named GP

Following publication of the new GP Contract 2015/2016, all patients have now been allocated a Named GP.

For most patients this will be their Usual GP.

If you wish to change your Named GP, please inform reception.
