Counselling
Paul Castell
Practice Counsellor
MA Cantab, PhD Cantab, Postgrad Dip UEA, MBACP (Accred)
Paul works at Jericho Health Centre two days a week, currently on Wednesday and Friday. He also sees people by referral from Talking Space Plus.
If you would like to see him it may be helpful to first discuss this with your GP
Counselling at the surgery normally consists of six sessions, spaced either weekly or fortnightly. Sessions last fifty minutes.
Counselling provides a confidential place within which to explore thoughts and feelings about oneself and relationships with others. It can help one make links between past experiences and current difficulties and to change patterns of behaviour. A counsellor does not normally give advice or take away difficult feelings. The aim is to help people gain understanding and confidence to face problems honestly and think about how to find a way forward.
