Meningitis B Outbreak
As you may be aware, there has been an outbreak in Kent of Meningitis B. As of this moment, there has NOT been any change in the guidance provided to GP practice regarding who we can and cannot give vaccines to. A course of Meningitis B vaccines have been given to all children since 2015.
There are 3 vaccines that a child should have received in its first 2 years. We are still able to vaccinate children under the age of 2 – we cannot, at this moment, offer to vaccinate any other people, even if they are travelling to Kent. We will update this guidance should the situation change.
You may be able to have the vaccine privately though the course involves 2 injections 28 days apart
